Group project week 3

This is the last week of the group project. Ester, Dana, and I will meet up tomorrow at school to finish up the project. I look forward to working on the website and completing this group project. Although we didn't spend a lot of time as a group because of our conflicting work schedules. I'm glad were getting the chance to collaborate and share ideas.

group project week 2

Because everyones schedules were different, not much was done this week on the group project. Dana and Ester were able to complete a good portion of the project last week. I look forward to week 3 working on the project with Dana & Esther. I know we will get some great ideas going.

Group Experience

I got in contact with Dana and Ester and decided to meet at Willis  library. Most of the project was finished. We plan to meet up again to complete the rest of the project. Everyone has different schedules so finding the right days and time are important.

Podcast

I like the idea of podcast. It can come in handy if your one that doesn't like to read. But in my case reading the lesson plan is more helpful. I get more out of reading it then I do listening to it. When I read a lesson plan I like to breakdown the meaning of words and how they fit into the material. Whenever I listen to podcast or any type of audio sample I tend to lose interest. I don't see myself as being a.d.d. but if the voice is boring then I become bored. Again it seems to be a preference in how one likes to learn.

Video I Enjoyed Most

YouTube Videos

The videos I watched all had a similar themes. The first video dealt with creativity, the second with how students deal with going to school. And the third video had to do with web 2.0 and design 2.0. Each video had one thing in common; education.  Education and technology are growing at a rapid rate. In todays society the internet is being used everyday of every hour of every minute. This tells me that people are constantly collaborating with each other around the world. Web 2.0 gives individuals an opportunity to express their feelings and ideologies.

First I would like to say creativity is a big part of our future. And that arts and music should be offered in all school districts.  It's sad to hear that school systems now in days do not encourage creativity. Although there are right ways to do things doesn't mean you always have to do it that way. Creativity brings out originality. Students with creative minds sometimes can be difficult to handle. But makes teaching the individual more interesting. Education is key to a child success in life. If we take away a kids imagination then there is nothing left for them to look forward to.

The school systems have taken advantage of web 2.o. There are more and more students signing up for internet classes. They help students and professors who have busy lives continue education with out interruption. Web 2.0 gives its users the option to explore pretty much anything or anyone. This form of instruction is not traditional but has almost the same effects. When instruction and technology come together they can be very useful. There are many online resources to choose from. The classes are designed for its students to utilize all aspects of the internet.

This is a video about the past 100 years to present use of Instructional Technology. I thought it was interesting to see the different ways of instruction & technology used in the past. We have come such a long way since 1900 to 2009.

Mind Mapping

Mind mapping can be a very helpful tool. It can be used as a goal chart. You set up what needs to be accomplished and you follow the path laid down. Another good use of this technique would be as a guidance chart. I can help those that have trouble staying on task. Mind maps are great for companies who want to show their employees steps to success. If ever you needed to plan out how you were going to start your own business, mind mapping would help the brainstorming process. Mind mapping can also benefit those that need help developing lesson plans.
